The influence of environmental tax rates on the Levelized cost of heat on the example of organic and biofuels boilers in Ukraine

In December 2019, the European Commission officially presented The Green Deal, a new EU economic development program aimed at achieving climate neutrality on continent by 2050. Many previous global, European, and national programs also aim to reduce emissions of pollutants into atmosphere. this context, one ways is alternative energy sources (in particular wider use biofuel boilers) increasing environmental tax rates. When choosing optimal heating boilers, practice using levelized cost (LCOH) indicator common. Environmental pollution (as component LCOH) calculated for three most common types boilers (for Ukrainian boiler houses) with capacity 4.65 58 MW, burning natural gas, coal, fuel oil, as well low-power organic biofuels, existing rates, projected in 4 times (according bill) subject introduction minimum maximum rates countries. It established that current Ukraine there are almost no incentives technologies concentration emissions, but may change situation. This, turn, once again suggests changing can be an effective tool sustainable goals.
